Pink Out and Goodwill Drive Sept. 24-28
Dear Oakridge Parents:
The week of September 24-28 is going to be an exciting time here at Oakridge. The Oakridge family will have the opportunity to participate in a Pink Out benefitting the American Cancer Society on September 28, culminating with the football game against All Saints. The Student Council and Varsity Cheerleaders are working hard in preparation for a very special evening.
We will also be conducting a Goodwill Drive sponsored by Channel 5 and Chevrolet. The drive will begin on Monday morning the 24th until the game on the 28th.. A Goodwill Pod container will be set in the west parking lot where all divisions are encouraged to bring donations for Goodwill. We will be having a competition between all divisions to see who can bring in the most donations. Goodwill, Chevrolet, and NBC Channel 5 will be hosting a tailgate party for all our fans outside the north end zone. Television crews will be at the game and Oakridge will be featured as the Goodwill Drive of the Week on Chevrolet’s Inside High School Sports on Saturday October 6 at noon.
Clean out your closets, gather those household items (please no large furniture) and bring them to school as you come in to drop off the kids. Just pull up to the POD container and place your donation in the box. Clip boards by division will be there to record your donation and donation receipts are there for you if you wish.
This a great opportunity for our students and families to make a difference to two very worthy organizations and to show the Metroplex what an incredible school Oakridge is.
