Elementary school children coloring in a group

The Oakridge athletic department is committed to the mental and physical development
of its students through athletic participation. It is the goal of the department that each student experiences the cooperation, dedication, and responsibility that comes with being a part of a team.
The athletic department supports a no-cut policy that emphasizes participation through
the non-varsity level. Due to off campus facilities and conference requirements, only a
selected number of athletes may participate in tennis and golf. Any athlete, who participates
on a non-varsity team will have the opportunity to participate in each game. If a student does not attend practice without notifying his or her coach, the coach of that team will have the option of determining playing time for the next contest.
An athlete who participates on the varsity level must earn playing time based on
performance, attendance, and evaluation. Although it is the athletic department’s intent to play
athletes on the varsity level whenever possible, the varsity coach is responsible for deciding
playing time based on the overall success of the team and the individuals who participate.
All athletic participants are required to follow the Southwest Preparatory Conference creed and
represent the school with the highest of moral and ethical standards on and off the floor/field.
Seniors who choose to participate in athletics must participate on the varsity level.
Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will play on either the junior varsity or varsity levels.
