The Oakridge School is a coeducational, college preparatory day school enrolling students in Preschool through Grade 12. Located east of Fort Worth, the School is readily accessible by car to students from the greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area. A variety of libraries, galleries, theaters, and museums as well as the cultural benefits of several universities are located in the Metroplex. The Oakridge School was founded in 1979 by a group of parents and educators concerned with offering a challenging college preparatory curriculum. Emphasizing personal development, the School aims "to provide....an education of highest quality to academically qualified students, to motivate each student to perform at his or her maximum potential, and to prepare students for a life of achievement in a global society."
The Oakridge School is a nonprofit institution governed by an independent Board of Regents. The School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest and holds membership in the National Association of Independent Schools, the Texas Association of Non-Public Schools, Texas Independent School Consortium, and the College Board.
ADMISSION AND COSTS The Oakridge School seeks to admit bright college-bound students of any race, color, or national or ethnic origin. Students are accepted on the basis of admissions testing, past academic and behavior records, recommendations, and an interview. There is an application fee of $50.00 and testing fee of $75.00. Linda Broadus, Director of Admission handles applications and oversees testing. For the 2007-2008 school year, the tuition ranges from $4,050.00 to $9,060.00 for the Early Childhood Center (PS, PK, K) and from $12,000.00 to $13,675.00 for grades 1-12. The school subscribes to the School Scholarship Service and provides limited financial aid to qualifying students.

The final decision on admission to The Oakridge School is determined by the Admissions Committee's evaluation of several factors: the application form, previous school transcript(s), completed recommendation form(s), the entrance examination, a school visit, and the interview. The committee's decision is final. The Oakridge School seeks to admit bright college-bound students.
The Oakridge School admits students of any race, color, creed, sex, or national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of color, creed, sex, or national and ethnic origin in school administered programs.
